The Challenge

Nathan’s Famous began in 1916 with a small hot dog stand in Coney Island, New York – 98 years later, Nathan’s has gained a reputation for serving the highest quality hot dogs in the world. Nathan’s was looking for various types of Digital Menu Board Systems that would solve the needs of both corporate and franchisee locations, including budgetary requirements.

The Solution

VGS produced several digital solutions, using Simplicity™ Enterprise Digital Menu Board Software, that allowed Nathan’s to more effectively enhance their brand while keeping within the franchisees’ budgets. Some locations received full-digital, networked displays which feature dynamic content for promoting combo offerings, monthly specials and promotions. Some locations received self-playing displays that operate independently from a network and feature content that can be uploaded from a USB drive. Other locations received hybrid menu systems featuring a combination of digital screens and LED illuminated panels. Placing the two side-by-side creates a seamless “all-digital” look without the cost of an “all-digital” system and the burden of keeping multiple digital screens updated with content.
